May The Fourth

Every year we enjoy celebrating this day and having some space fun. We have so many books on space. We add to our collection whenever we find a new one that we like.
We found a read aloud version of the book “Otter in Space” and the kids looked at the book and watched the video. We started looking for read aloud books because of the virtual learning going on and have found so many good books that we don’t have the books.
A fun craft was making a chalk universe. The kids enjoy working with black paper and chalk. You can make all sorts of pictures with chalk and black paper. We had the colored chalk so that made it even more fun. We have made constellations in the past with white chalk. We’ve also done it with pretzel sticks and mini marshmallows. Just have fun!
We love Star Wars. We have so much fun with the movies and the characters. Earlier this year we went to an art show and my two oldest grandkids got to take pictures with some stormtroopers. One of our trainings was Star Wars themed and my daughter took pictures with the posters.
