Exploring The Island
June 20, 2020
his week we were Exploring The Island. This post may contain affiliate links. Treasure maps, volcanos, caves, coconut trees and waterfalls are our topics. Their treasure maps were made on blue paper with different shapes to put on the map. We put “jewels” under the one they marked with an X for the treasure.
The Make & Play was a cave headlamp. We watched videos of kids exploring caves. It was super simple to make. The fun part was them playing with it as they looked in the tables and around the corners with their light.
The Make & Play was a coconut tree. They cut strips for the leaves and cut the sides to make it look like the picture of the real trees. And of course Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a favorite book that went along with the topic.
Our Invitation to Create included background paper, coffee filters, pebbles, other paper, scissors and glue. They cut their coffee filter into pieces and used it as the water falling down.
We did make the volcano and watch videos on them plus science experiments that they loved watching. I am not sure how I missed getting pictures of their volcano craft.
