Bird Parts
April 21, 2020
This week it was all about the different parts of birds! This post may contain affiliate links. Our daily topics were “head & beak”, “body”, “wing”, “feet & claws” and “tail”. Experience Early Learning gave us a bunch of extra feathers for us to use for games and to play with in our nests, if we wanted to.
One of the best crafts was when they created a tail for the bird. It was a fun Make & Play. They were given a plate and colorful paper with markers. One boy created a very colorful bird to match the tail he made.
We had a small class this week so they did a lot of playing in different places. Like our duplo in the library. We read a lot of books about birds including ones included IN our curriculum. We also found some fun books that we could have read to us.
Our I Can Read reader this month is Fly Away! I love how we get sight words and pictures so they can build their own sentences. And find the words IN the book that match.
What is your favorite bird? Mine is the blue jay. My favorite color is blue so I love birds that have blue.
