At The Beach
June 13, 2020
This week our theme is At The Beach. This post may contain affiliate links. We learned about crabs, sandcastles, shells, sunglasses and sunscreen. They enjoyed the crab shaker. We helped them create the legs and pinchers for their crabs and they used colored the cup with either markers or crayons. They put stickers on it for the eyes.
Our Invitation to Create for sandcastles was messy but they loved it. We gave them the supplies for this craft and they created it their own way. I have seen some teachers lead it a different way. You can use the sand colored paper to cut out sandcastle shapes and glue it on the blue paper. They added sand to the sand colored paper.
The Invitation to Create was to shell noodles, but we had a whole bag of shells and decided to let them color those. They enjoyed it so much. We will probably do it again later in the month, just because. They used thin and thick markers. Super easy craft.
This month’s I Can Read book has places that they get to draw things IN the book to make it more their own. The sight words for this month are “are”, “here” and “where”.
What do you love about the beach?
