Hey Y'all!
Hey Y’all - I’m Terri
I'm a writer, reader, teacher, and lifelong Texas girl. I've lived in Texas my whole life, and while I once imagined moving away, I'm grateful that door never opened. This place - and the people in it - helped shape who I am.
I met my husband when I was just fourteen, and we married three years later. More than forty-three years later, we're still walking through life together. We have four adult children, with fourteen years between the oldest and youngest, and we've been blessed with nine grandchildren so far. Our family story includes joy, loss, and seasons of waiting -- all of which have deepened my faith and shaped the way I see the world.
Teaching has been a central part of my life since 1997. I homeschooled my children through high school, and today I teach both my grandchildren and other students. While education has changed over the years, my favorite part has stayed the same: helping children learn to read and discover new things.
At heart, though, I've always been a reader and a writer.
I learned to read early and spent much of my childhood and young adult years with a book close by. As life grew fuller, reading time became harder to find - but collecting books never stopped. Through writers' groups, author friendships, and book reviewing, I found my way back to stories. This space is part of my return to writing -- sharing book reviews, reflections on reading and writing, and the stories God places on my heart.
Beyond books and writing, I share pieces of my everyday life here, too. I've been running off and on since 2015 and am stepping back into that journey with intention. I also enjoy baking bread with freshly milled grains, quilting when time and resources allow, and occasionally traveling with my husband and family. These aren't side projects -- they're part of a life I'm learning to live more thoughtfully.
Everything I share here is offered on the Jesus Way -- with honesty, grace and curiosity.
Thanks for being here. I hope you find a book to read, a story to enjoy, and a bit of encouragement to pursue the things that bring you joy.
