Rooms
June 12, 2021
This week we learned all about the rooms in our home. No matter what type of home you live in, they usually have these rooms. This post may contain affiliate links. We talked about doors and windows, living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. They made a fun Make & Play house with a paper sack filled with newspaper. We put a roof on it and taped doors and windows where ever they wanted them. Then they played with them with Lego people or animals.
One thing that keep going back to is that wonderful ROUND space puzzle. It is so fun for them to do by themselves or with friends. We love having the big brown table to work on for many activities.

We moved our room around a bit and put the group table right next to the window. They love sitting with the sunshine coming in. Their Creative Art for the day was to make a postcard. They had to draw their family doing a favorite activity together. One boy drew him and his parents playing his favorite board game.
We turned our fun kitchen Invitation to Create into a Make & Play! We talked about what things we saw in the picture on the burger and what OTHER things some people might put on their burgers. We decided it would be super fun to create some of those items with paper and markers. Then instead of gluing it together or using paint, we let them put their ingredients in a plastic bag and then we put everything in a white paper sack so that it looked like a take out bag from a restaurant. They had so much fun building their burgers over and over again. They even used them to play in our home living area and took "orders" for burgers.
Our I Can Read book was about the kitchen. On the last page they had to decide what to draw on the plate for dessert. I love how they have added a page to the end of each book that they child can write and draw the "end" of their story. It gives them a bit of ownership to the book.
For the bathroom we talked about brushing our teeth and about how soap makes bubbles, handwashing and taking baths. For bedrooms we enjoyed having fun with the song No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!
Next week we will be learning all about Chores, responsibilities and caring for pets that need to be done in our homes.
